In a move blending philanthropy with celebration, Engr. Bright Irek, popularly known as De Agent of Change, marked his birthday on February 11, 2026, by distributing sanitary pads to more than 400 female secondary school students across five schools in Obubra, Akpabuyo, and Abuja.
In a Facebook post, he shared,
“Dear Family,
I am excited to share that my birthday is on the 11th of February. This year, I would like to celebrate by supporting a community of young, vulnerable girls who cannot afford sanitary pads.

The unique birthday wish, announced a week before his birthday on social media, invited donations from well-wishers. Consequently, the initiative received overwhelming support from generous contribution
Outreach Covers Five Schools Across Three Locations
The program benefited three schools in Obubra LGA, one in Akpabuyo LGA, and one in Abuja. With the help of his team, each school received a significant supply of sanitary pads.
According to school officials, the donation will help female students attend classes without interruption during their menstrual cycles.
“We are truly grateful to Engr. Bright Irek for this support. We are happy that our school was recognized. We know Bright Irek, and we are happy for him. This kind gesture will positively impact our students,” said Araghe Monday, a teaching staff of Girls School, Obubra.
“On behalf of the school’s management, we are wishing him a happy birthday, and many more years of achievement. May God bless him. We are grateful” said a representative of the Government Technical college, Obubra.
“I really appreciate this kind gesture, and we pray that God will keep him, and provide for him as he has provided for others” said Mr. Thomas Obia, the Principal of Mbembe Comprehensive Secondary School.
Students and staff alike expressed appreciation for the initiative, which provided essential sanitary products to keep girls in school during their menstrual cycles.
