Lagos, Nigeria.
Afrobeats star Davido has dismissed a renewed paternity claim after a teenager publicly appealed for a DNA test, insisting that multiple tests already confirmed he is not her biological father.
In a blunt response shared on X, the singer said he had taken five DNA tests over the years, all of which returned negative results.
“I have done five DNA tests. Make una find her real papa,” Davido wrote.
The comment came hours after a handwritten letter, allegedly from Anu, a 12-year-old girl who has long been linked to the singer in a disputed paternity case, surfaced online. In the letter, the teenager pleaded for another DNA test, saying years of uncertainty had taken an emotional toll on her.
“I just want to know the truth,” the letter read. “I want peace of mind.”
At the center of the controversy is a claim first made more than a decade ago by Anu’s mother, Ayo Labinjoh, who has consistently insisted that Davido is the child’s father. Davido, however, has repeatedly denied the allegation, maintaining that previous DNA tests had already settled the matter.

Meanwhile, Labinjoh has challenged the singer’s version of events, disputing both the number of tests conducted and their credibility. She has called for a fresh DNA test under what she described as “proper and transparent supervision,” suggesting involvement of neutral authorities.
The singer’s sharp response has divided public opinion. While some fans defended Davido’s right to draw a line after years of denial, others criticised the tone of his statement, arguing that the matter involves a minor and should be handled with greater sensitivity.
Media personality Daddy Freeze, reacting to the renewed debate, claimed he had seen one of the DNA test results and said it supported Davido’s position.
“From what I saw, the DNA test did not match Davido,” he said, while urging that any further testing should follow formal legal and medical procedures.
For now, no court-ordered DNA test has been announced, and neither party has confirmed plans to pursue legal action. But with the issue once again dominating social media timelines, pressure is mounting for a definitive resolution.
Whether the dispute will finally be settled privately or escalate into a legal battle remains unclear.
